Under this initiative, piped water is being made available to all households in both rural and urban areas of the state. The following schemes are being implemented to ensure piped water access to all homes:

Nishchay Yojana Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Nishchay Yojana
Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal Nishchay Yojana: Under this scheme, all households in the non-quality affected wards of 4291 Gram Panchayats are being supplied with tap water. This scheme is executed by the Panchayati Raj Department, with implementation carried out at the ward level by a seven-member ‘Ward Implementation and Management Committee’ led by the respective ward members of the Gram Panchayat. This committee, formed through Ward Assembly for two years, consists primarily of beneficiaries and is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and securing the scheme according to its guidelines. The goal is to provide piped water to every household by the year 2019-20.
Current Status: Out of the targeted 58,107 wards till 2019-20, work has started in 57,995 wards and completed in 57,603 wards, covering 88.12 lakh households against the target of 88.95 lakh.
Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal (Quality Affected Areas) Nishchay Yojana: This scheme is implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department in 3068 Gram Panchayats where water quality is affected by iron, fluoride, and arsenic. The scheme aims to supply piped water to all families in these quality-affected areas by 2019-20.
Current Status: Out of the targeted 30,272 quality-affected wards till 2019-20, work has started in 30,136 wards and completed in 29,335 wards.
Mukhyamantri Gramin Peyjal (Non-quality Affected Areas) Nishchay Yojana: This scheme, executed by the Public Health Engineering Department, targets 1027 Gram Panchayats where water quality is not or only partially affected. The implementation is carried out at the ward level by a seven-member ‘Ward Implementation and Management Committee’ headed by the respective ward members of the Gram Panchayat. The goal is to provide piped water to every household by 2019-20.
Current Status: Out of the targeted 26,272 non-quality affected wards till 2019-20, work has started in 26,239 wards and completed in 26,088 wards.
Mukhyamantri Shahri Peyjal Nishchay Yojana: This scheme, managed by the Urban Development and Housing Department, aims to provide piped water to all families in 143 municipal corporations that lack access to piped water. Based on a survey conducted by the Urban Development and Housing Department, there are 19,08,164 urban households in the state (excluding government houses).
Current Status: Out of the targeted 3,370 wards till 2019-20, work has started in all 3,370 wards and completed in 3,008 wards, covering 14.03 lakh households against the target of 15.85 lakh.
