Under the directives of CM Nitish, the timing of all government schools has been revamped

Following the guidance of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, all public schools across the state have adjusted their schedules. The Education Department released a notice on Tuesday to inform about this change. According to the announcement signed by the Director of Secondary Education, Kanhaiya Prasad Shrivastava, on November 28, 2023, school hours used to start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Now, it’s clarified that classes will commence at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m.

In line with the new schedule, each period will have specific time slots: the first period from 10:00 to 10:40, the second from 10:40 to 11:20, and so on until the eighth period ending at 4:00.

The Education Department emphasized that previous directives issued on November 28, 2023, will remain in effect. These include beginning the school day with prayers, exercises, and yoga, and holding special sessions under Mission Daksh for 45 minutes after the last period. Subsequently, teachers will be engaged in preparing profiles for Mission Daksh students.
